THISTLE & WEED Khakibos White 2022

The grapes were delicately whole bunch pressed and naturally fermented 2nd fill and older French oak barrels, only the free run juice was used. The wine was allowed to mature on lees for 9 months prior to bottling, unfiltered.

Aromas of naartjie peel, jasmine flowers and toasted brioche. The richly layered, and expressive palate is kept in line by a searing acidity finishing with a sherbet tang.

The Verdelho grape, like the Khakibos (Tagetes Minuta), is a newcomer to the foothills of Stellenbosch. Stemming from distant shores, both are remarkably comfortable in the unique Cape climate. Lively. Fresh. Restorative – a tonic for your senses.
